Quarter mile post right against steps end of box PH Calcott, F Hull, A Coleman - NUR1930. Ken Holdsworth working here on 12JUL1969 (DY PSB). P - Former railway yard now sold off as industrial estate so site of box totally enveloped by a haulage yard - even the mile post adjacent to the box is new and closer to main line. Platforms still just vsible as are station access paths.

Five 3 pane wide by 2 pane high arched locking room windows on front (Main) side but not directly aligned with flakes. No locking room windows on rear. Railed walkway all the way round. It is mentioned in Weekly Notices up to and including w/e 26FEB1910 as "Open Continuously". Work was completed on Wednesday, March 2nd; 'At 9.0 a.m. on Thursday, March 3rd, the Warning Boards will be removed' appears in Midland Railway weekly notice March 5th 1910 - but there is no mention of Derwent Bridge box being closed.
